So here's a few of the questions that I normally get asked.....If I don't answer your particular question please feel free to drop me a line. Otherwise, this might clear some things up.
Q: Why should I even bother with a professional designer ?
A: This is one of the more common questions I get out there and actually, it's a darn good question. First of all, there a a million different designs out there, some good, some not so good. Often times when I get asked to do an adaptation or custom scheme it's from some idea that the owner already had in mind and that's great. If the scheme is from another type of aircraft all together it might not fit on your particular aircraft the way it's laid out on the original. This is when it's nice to have a professional step in. Whether it's just a tweak here or there or a different color scheme, etc. it can make a huge impact on the overall appearance and final presentation. I think we can all agree that the scheme is one of the first impressions you have of a particular aircraft and it should be reflective of the owner/s themselves. Trust me, the LAST thing you want to do is settle on something that you may be happy with at the time when all it takes is a little more to get a true, one-off paint scheme that you will be truly proud of showing off for years to come.
Q: What all comes with the design service that you offer ?
A: Starting out we will settle on a basic design format and you will have up to eight different basic schemes to pick from if you choose a custom design or up to four different designs if you choose an adaptation. Color changes and sub- variations can be laid out in any of the previous schemes. You will receive a set of final plans via e-mail containing plates similar to the way it's shown above. I will include any and all views required to have any layout person easily understand what we are after. I strive to be the best in the business when it comes to accuracy of your particular aircraft. I hand-draw each and every plane you see from hundreds of reference photos, including ones you provide me, so when you get your rendering back it's your aircraft, down to the antennae and mods! Your layout guy should have no trouble with what's given.
Q: Is there any way I can bring my aircraft down for you to look at so that I can get a better idea in person?
A: Absolutely ! The closest airport would be Hondo, Tx (HDO) or Kerrville, Tx (ERV). I am also available within an hour or so radius from HDO for no additional charge. Just call me and we can work something out between us. There would be a fee involved if I have to fly elsewhere plus you will be responsible for the airfare and accommodations.
Q: I sort of already have a plan in mind but I don't know how to get the idea across to you, what's the best way to get the ball rolling?
A: Many people actually have something already in mind and don't go into this cold. It really doesn't matter how far along the process you are as I am here to help. The best way is to call me and we can work something out about the best format to start with. Typically, someone will have a set theme that they want and we end up in Google images, etc. getting a better hold of just how they want it. Colors, format layout, trim designs, numbers, and decals/ placards will be discussed at this point. The final scheme will be laid out as per your specific instructions, I'm just here to help it along.
